The last few sessions I've noticed problems with the major plot for the campaign. Namely, releasing Hypnogogia and fighting in his name. Also, the transition of the new characters has made things awkward. I would have preferred, since it happened so early, to just pretend they were present when the first adventures occurred. It's become clear from their continued complaints of "I wasn't there!" and "I did nothing wrong!" that this isn't what Adam or Lucas wants. The problem is, they just sort of dropped in during the middle of the Pelor temple aftermath, and it's a game. I can't just leave them out and capture Dais and Dolorito. And even if you want ot stick to them doing nothing wrong, they have been and will continue to associate with and support Dais and Dolorito, and so will be subject to all anger directed at them. If you have a problem with this, let me know.
The current situation is just part of a larger issue, though. Originally, of the 4 party members, 3 were actual followers of Hypnogogia and two of the 3 were priests to him. The fourth worshiped an allied god. Now, there is one priest and one other follower. The other half of the party doesn't have much if any allegiance, and I don't see them finding any reason to carry on such a crusade. I could just keep the original plot going and have Art and Charir be tag-alongs, but considering that Gabe and I are primarily in charge of the plot, that ends up being rather self-serving. So, what should we do? I really don't want to alter the main plot or change my character's motivations, it'd be hard to explain. But I don't see things as they are planned currently working out. The plan of course was to fight bitterly to free Hypnogogia and proceed to commit Deicide on the rest of the pantheon. This is part of the reason we are in a high-powered gestalt game. If everyone wants a different kind of game, there may be no need for gestalt.
