I had this idea years ago, now I'm upset i forgot about it till now. The idea was for the DM to set aside ~5% (exact amount is negotiable) of all won gp from dungeons into a party fund. The party fund can be used by anyone, but only for items to help the party in general: healing items, raise dead payment, scroll of rope trick for an easy night's sleep, money to bribe NPCs with for information, etc.... Anything that generally benefits the party and a lone person shouldn't have to foot the bill for. What do people think? And if you want to do it, how much?
I won't take away from the first dungeon's pot, and if you think this is something that can be handled in character just discussing, let me know. It's fine.

5% is nothing. Bump it to 20%, the equivalent of a full fifth party member.

Sounds good to me, and 5% seems like a decent amount.
