Mars is a god of the battlefield in all of its aspects: from a contest of wills to the siege of a city. He is portrayed as a cool methodical strategist and knows the value of both mercy and ruthlessness. In stark contrast to Ares, Mars expects organization and discipline in battle.
St. Torisk was a man who grew up in the mountains of Ezlann and grew to respect and be respected by the wolves in the area. He saw them as creatures of Mars due to their use of pack tactics and the leadership fighting for control of the pack.
In 76 DC (Dosadan Calendar, -568 TC or common calendar) he encountered the Azer during the eruptions of that year in Ezlann. He made a pact with them in the name of Mars for service. Using the lessons he learned over his lifetime in the service of Mars and his observations in the mountains; St. Torisk went on fight and lead successfully in the Ezlanni-Argossean Conflict of -560 - -556 TC.
At the age of 72 St. Torisk was welcomed into the company of Mars on 4/11/-554tc
His teachings spread rapidly.

On this day a priest of the order cannot be hurt by fire and only have damage from most magical fires. It is a festival celebrating Mars' aspect of a Lord of the Realm and his worshippers; the Azer, who sometimes attend the festival. Gifts are exchanged and it is a day of celebration.
3/15 Takkars Birthday.
A day of rest with some Rites performed at dusk.
4/8 – 4/11 The Ascension of St. Torisk, celebrated over three days.
At noon on the 8th the holiday starts with a service by the high priests to the public along with public offerings of high quality weaponry and other such gifts laid on a portable altar. Readings from the book of St. Torisk are offered throughout the day

Feast Day – Wine and food is distributed by the temples. At dusk the contestants of tomorrows games begin to fast.
4/11
The games begin at dawn: contests of swordfighting, werestling, jousting, as well as games of strategy or held. At noon the games end and a champion is declared for each event and then an overall champion is declared. Three hours before dusk the Book of St. Torisk is read from again as well as the Rites of Mars are performed at dusk.
If Mars is pleased the gifts and altar will disappear in a flash of fire.
Priest Code/Discipline:
Priests can wear anything they choose except on holy days. Then they must wear their robes of blue with a red sash.
Priests must remain clean-shaven, cannot drink anything heavier than wine, must be celibate on holy days, and pray at least one hour each day (no set time like most.)
A priest does not have to confront unbelievers or followers of other faiths but are encouraged to scheme and plan to win all or nothing in event they decide to force a confrontation. Band planning and senseless loss of life (believers) angers Mars while a plan that wins a major victory but costs many followers is perfectly acceptable. Even better if unbelievers are manipulated to do the work and dying.
Mars, like all Dosadan gods, does not have a home city or temple.
