The temple to Pelor was still in grieving over the sudden loss of their head priestess, Aluvian, as well as solemn over what would happen now that the Autumn festival had been a complete disaster. To add insult to injury, the culprits had even taken away one of Pelor's oldest relics, which left the poor clergy to face the full anger of all other churches to the sun god.
With a loud clanking of iron on stone, one man advanced to the main doors, going inside and observing the situation.
"What is this? Ye all look so damned gaunt an' helpless. I'm standin' 'ere, an' no one's even greeted me yet! Or at least pointed a sword a' me and asked who tha hell I was."
He was a dwarf, clad head to toe in magnificent steel, adorned in full plate, heavy shield, horned helm, and plated boots, runes and crests etched over the majority of the surface area.
"...We're terribly sorry. We've just been in low spirits as of late. ...Just who are you, indeed?" One of the clergy responded, carefully moving up to the dwarf, a Pelor Honor Guard soldier staying near. The dwarf held up a holy symbol of a clock, the hour hand made to look like a sand hour glass. The priest seemed perplexed.
"Cripes! Dinnae' they teach ye anythin' here?! It's Etina's holy symbol!" He just nodded, turning his head away at the putrid smell of the dwarf's breath, which he estimated to be what rotting fish covered in tar and set ablaze would be like, trying not to gag. "The hell's wrong wit' ye? Etina! goddess of Time? ALLY of Pelor! Blithering idiot."
"I...I'm sorry, Mr. Dwarf, I..." *choking cough* "I knew who she was, it's..." *blech!* "An honor to meet a steadfast ally of the light."
"The name is Kraagor. An' enough o' tha pleasantries. I came 'ere ta track down tha fiends responsible for wha happened 'ere. I dinnae' think it was just a random act."
"We have people looking into the matter already. It will be resolved." The priest stated, now fully turned away from Kraagor for his stomach's sake.
"Then let me help ye investigation, I'm pretty good a' conductin' them. First of all, i'll need tha priestess Aluvian's body."
The priest looked at him with a mix of horror and disgust, mouth gaping open for a minute and eyes widening in shock. "How...how dare you! We will not let you defile our lady! How dare you even bring such perverse thoughts in this place of worship!"
Kraagor smacks the priest upside the head. What tha hell is wrong wit' ye?! Get yer mind outta tha gutter! I need 'er body ta ask some questions 'o it.
"Ask...questions... Oh, I see. Right away, Sir Kraagor. Forgive me for misinturpretting your intentions!"
Kraagor watched the man run off to get help in retrieving her preserved remains. But wha in Etina's name could those bastards 'ave been after?
