Spells cast walking in: See Invisibility, Flight of the Dragon. Also, Reduce Person and Mirror Image if allowed (if 9 minute duration is enough to last).
Spells cast before battle: Displacement. Reduce Person and/or Mirror Image if not cast before walking in arena.

Tactics:
Note, gorax has Baleful Polymorph prepared, but never casts it. This is because it powers his reserve feat, Minor Shapechange. This feat allows him to, as a swift action, give himself minor physical alterations for up to 5 rounds or until he activates the feat again (triggering a new effect ends the old one). He simply uses this for the temporary hp option, so he basically starts the fight with 9 temporary hp. Any round he can take a swift action to replenish this reserve of temporary hp. Thus, against a foe who deals inconsistent or small, steady chips of damage, Gorax can endure quite a while.
Gorax likes to fool around with his foe, seeing the fight as a game and his opponent as his toy. Generally, he doesn't bring out the direct damage spells until he's had some fun (slow, unluck, black tentacles, thunderhead, "hide and go seek" w/ invisibility, etc...), the foe refuses to follow similar conduct or play along, or if his tricks don't seem to work. Note, he is still quite intelligent and thus knows it's better to throw black tentacles at casters and unluck at fighters, etc...
